Doug Hart/Aiden Hoogland win Carolyn Nute Memorial

October 30
12:45 2018

17 boats hit the starting line for the Annual Carolyn Nute Memorial Regatta, always run the end of October in Mission Bay. Competition was tough with multiple National champions on the line, juniors and female teams all trying to get their name engraved on the trophy – already adorned by super famous Snipe sailing champions from years past. In the end, Doug Hart with junior crew Aiden Hoogland, bested the group after 7 races to win – his discard was a 3.

George Szabo/Diana Waterbury finished second with the father/son team of Dave & Cole Tillson in 3rd.  Several all female teams were also on the line with Aimme Heim/Kim Stanford finishing as the top female team. Chuck Sinks with crew Beca Huyard were in the hunt after Saturday’s racing but had to bail on Sunday so he could cheer on son Tyler in the coveted Lipton Cup.

Thanks to all for another great Carolyn Nute Memorial Regatta for the books!
