The US Masters was hosted by Fleet 801 in St. Petersburg, FL.  The SPYC served as great host for a party Halloween night and provided an excellent race committee and safety  boats.  The group enjoyed the social opportunities and used the non-sailing day to explore the town and shop.

Saturday was a blow out with 30kt winds and cold air from a weather front.  Sunday was much better!  Three races were completed in shifty winds from 8 to 14.   The fleet included a husband-wife (Roberto Guaragna and Ana), a father-daughter (Layyn Coon and Marla), and a father-son (Bill Worster and Steve).  There was one all female team too (Lydia Davidson and Marah Kvlatine).  The Apprentice Master was Hal Gilreath with crew Cynthia Parmley, the Master was Andrew Klein and crew Jessica Claflin.  The Grand Master was Don Hackbarth with crew Merrill Varn.  The Great Grand Master was Jerry Thompson with crew Alan Cepellin.
